8 Hour Custody Training for Evaluators and Mediators

 The objective of this workshop is to meet the requirements of California Rule 1257.4. This rule specifies that all persons appointed as child custody evaluators and mediators must complete an annual 8-hour training update each calendar year. This year’s workshop will include the annual update on statutes and case law and  an update about happenings at the local family court. The afternoon will focus on coaching of custody litigants and other topics of interest.


 

 

 

 


The San Diego Psychological Association (SDPA) is approved by the American Psychological Association (APA) to sponsor continuing education for psychologists. The San Diego Psychological Association maintains responsibility for the program. This course meets the qualifications for CE credit for MFTs and /or LCSWs as required by the CA Board of Behavioral Sciences.

CANCELLATION POLICY: For a full refund, you must call 48 hours prior to the event. “No-Shows” will not receive refunds. If you are more than 10 minutes late to a course or leave more than 10 minutes early, you will not receive CE credit.

 

Dr. Russell Gold is a psychologist in private practice in San Diego, CA. He is an Adjunct Professor at the CSPP at Alliant International University and the Director of the Child Custody and Family Research Center. He has performed custody evaluations for the last 23 years, he sits on the San Diego County Juvenile Justice Commission, and serves as an expert case reviewer for the State of CA Board Of Psychology.

Dr. Neil Ribner is a licensed psychologist with 30 years experience working with children, adolescents, and adults. He is the Director of the Clinical Psy.D. program, Coordinator of Family and Child Training, and Director of the Family Center at the CSPP at Alliant International University. Drs. Gold and Ribner conducted the mandated 20-hour mandatory training for custody evaluators and mediators in 2002 and 2003, and the 8-hour yearly updates in 2004, 2005, and 2006.

 

Dr. Ribner is a licensed psychologist with 30 years experience working with children, adolescents, and adults. He is the Director of the Clinical Psy.D. program, Coordinator of Family and Child Training, and Director of the Family Center at the CSPP at Alliant International University.  Drs. Gold and Ribner conducted the mandated 20-hour mandatory training for custody evaluators and mediators in 2002 and 2003, and the 8-hour yearly updates in 2004—2009.
