Community Mental Health   

Contact Committee Chair

The Community Mental Health Committee is a standing committee.  The purpose of the Community Mental Health Committee shall be to monitor developments in the area of community mental health, establishing liaisons with community mental health agencies and organizations, and helping to facilitate the delivery of services by practicing psychologists to the underserved in the public mental health system in San Diego County.  The Committee shall also provide information to the SDPA membership and public about community mental health resources.  The chair and members of this Committee shall be proposed by members of the Committee and certified by the Board.  The terms of Community Mental Health Committee chair and members shall be one year.

HISTORY

The SDPA Community Mental Health Committee (CMHC) was created in July, 1997
for the purpose of bringing together all psychologists who represent the SDPA on various
advisory committees, boards and task forces concerned with public mental health services in
San Diego County. The Committee is responsible for monitoring developments in the area of
community mental health, establishing liaisons with community mental health agencies or
organizations, and helping to facilitate the delivery of services by private practice
psychologists to the underserved in the public mental health system in San Diego
County. The Committee also provides information to the public about community mental
health resources. CMHC provides representation throughout the county.
