Nir Bergman’s series In Treatment won the Israeli Academy Award for Best Series in 2005. The remake of the series by HBO is used in academic settings to teach and discuss psychoanalytic technique and principles.

Nir Bergman grew up in Haifa and Ein Hod. He studied at the Multidisciplinary Program at Tel Aviv University and studied Film at Sam Spiegel Film and Television School.
He is the winner of many awards, including the Directing award at the IMAJ Festival in Brussels and the best Asia Film award at the Kerala Film Festival in India for Yona.
His film, Intimate Gramma, won Best Film at the Tokyo Festival, the Jerusalem Festival, and the Paris Film Festival in 2011.
