From the comfort of your own home, join Dr. David Rudd, Ph.D, author of "Brief Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy for Suicide Prevention," as he presents an empirically validated CBT approach to suicide risk assessment. Dr. Rudd is the President of Psychology at the University of Memphis with clinical expertise in risk management. With the focus of hope as a core skill, Dr. Rudd will guide us in exploration of ongoing treatment strategies and how to identify risk factors with clients of diverse backgrounds and experiences. LEARNING OBJECTIVES
Participants will recognize issues critical in the assessment, clinical management, and treatment of those at risk for suicide. Participants will be able to assess risk in actively suicidal patients, differentiating acute and chronic risk.
Participants will be able to utilize a set of empirically validated interventions for clinical management of care. Participants will be able to develop immediate, short and long-term treatment goals for patients with active suicide risk.
