CHRONIC ADOLESCENT SEXUAL ABUSE: THE EFFECT OF SEXUAL ORIENTATION AND OBJECT CHOICE - A CASE REPORT AND TREATMENT - 2 CEs

Presenter: Calvin Colarusso, M.D.
Hosted by San Diego Psychoanalytic Center (SDPC)

Location:
San Diego Psychoanalytic Center
4455 Morena Blvd., Suite 202, San Diego, CA 92117

Drs. Colarusso and Epstein will present material from a forensic evaluation and psychotherapy of a fifty-year-old man who was sexually abused for four years during adolescence.  Differences between what can be learned—and understood—from conflicting information gathered during a thorough evaluation as opposed to ongoing therapy will be presented.

The effect of early developmental experiences and traumas vs. adolescent sexual abuse will both be presented in an effort to address the central question of what were the major determinants to the sexual orientation that eventually solidified in this man. Each of the presenters will speak for 20-25 minutes, followed by a brief informal discussion between the presenters of areas of agreement and disagreement.
