Speakers: Lieutenant Lyndse Anderson and Dr. Jeffrey Mann
Biographies:
Lieutenant Anderson is a recent graduate from Navy Medical Center San Diego's Post Doctoral Internship and now works as part of the Active duty psychology staff for the Dept of Mental Health. She is preparing to defend her dissertation on racial bias in perspective-taking in December through Fielding Graduate University. Her primary research focus for the past decade has been diversity factors, cultural competency, racial bias, and privilege/oppression dynamics. Cultural assessment and dynamics in clinical practice have been a area of particular focus and training throughout her doctoral training. She has a background in child and family therapy, child welfare services, integrated mental health care, and adult outpatient care with a cognitive behavioral foundation. She has gained experience with the military population both as a civilian provider, and now as an active duty provider at NMCSD.
Dr. Mann is graduate of Adler University in Chicago, IL. He is a veteran of the United States Air Force (USAF) where he served as a clinical psychologist from 2009 to 2013 with a deployment to Al Udeid Air Base in 2013. He has been a faculty member with the Center for Deployment Psychology since October 2013 and has focused on several DoD project regarding the effective use of evidence based psychotherapy in military settings. Dr. Mann is currently serving as the Deployment Behavioral Health Psychologist at Naval Medical Center San Diego as a training and education resource for the Directorate of Mental Health.
