Webinar Description:
Over the last decade, there has been an explosion of neuroscientific exploration and discovery with regard to evidence-based treatments for combat-related Posttraumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) and Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI). The first presentation by Dr. Sarah Jackson briefly reviews some of the cutting edge findings from translational neuroscience and clinical applications currently being explored to overcome barriers in the treatment of combat-related PTSD and TBI among Veterans and military members. A demonstration of Stress Inoculation Training (SIT-NORCAL) as an example of bench-to-bedside clinical applications in patient education will be given. In the next presentation, Dr. Carolyn Allard will address guilt and shame related to military trauma and moral injury in treatment with active duty and veteran clients. A short question and answer period will follow the two presenters.
